This position is for CMC in patient adult pharmacy. A CPHT issued through PTCB is required.
Accountable for assisting pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation and distribution of medications and sterile products for patient administration. These activities include but are not limited to: unit dose medications and IV admixtures; parenteral nutrition; floor stock pharmaceuticals; controlled substances; and other defined systems. The Technician II functions in all aspects of drug distribution that do not require the professional judgment of a pharmacist. All assigned activities are performed under the direct supervision of the pharmacist and pharmacist supervisor. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers. Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment. Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.
Prior experience, as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting is highly desired. Previous employment history should provide an indication that the individual is motivated to perform assigned job responsibilities in an above average manner. Knowledge of the metric system. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as, exhibiting strong organizational skills and work ethic. Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients/customers. Basic computer and typing skills. Familiar with operation of standard office equipment, as well as, Pharmacy computer systems, Automix and Micromix compounders
High School diploma
CPHT certification is required
Preferred Qualifications: Previous hospital experience preferred.
