The University of Tulsa seeks a Chief Conservator for the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Chief Conservator is responsible for coordinating with museum staff to preserve and conserve objects, including documents, works of art on paper, and books in the museum collection; interacting with the public and museum professionals regarding proper care of documents and works on paper; actively advocating for art conservation; and teaching a course for the University of Tulsa's Master's program for Museum Science and Management.
Master's of Conservation with a specialization in paper; thirty-six (36) months of postgraduate experience in paper conservation.
Professional Associate or Fellow status membership in the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic works.
Incidental travel may be required for meetings, professional coursework, conferences, and as a courier for artwork.
