Operating under the supervision of the Dean of Business, the Instructor of Economics teaches macroeconomics and microeconomics courses. The instructor also assists in student advising, division meetings, college committees, and activities.
This position is contingent upon approval of the FY18-19 budget by the Tennessee Board of Regents. This position is primarily located at the Sevier County Campus.
Requirements of the Position
A. Minimum of a Master’s degree with eighteen or more graduate semester hours in economics from a regionally accredited institution.
B. Experience teaching in both traditional and online settings.
C. Preference given to candidates with college teaching experience.
D. Preference given to candidates with experience working with an online learning management system.
E. Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree and at least eighteen graduate semester hours in accounting from a regionally accredited institution and who are also willing to teach accounting courses.
Essential Job Functions
A. Provide instruction for economics courses at any college teaching location utilizing traditional, hybrid, and online instructional methods.
B. Prepare syllabi and course materials; evaluate student learning and maintain class records.
C. Serve on college committees.
D. Advise students
E. Participate in regional and division accreditation processes.
F. Perform other related duties as assigned.
